Sustainability Initiatives

Fibre Sourcing

Sustainable Forestry
Irving Tissue is committed to using wood from forests managed in a sustainable way. Only fibres certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) are used to produce Irving Tissue products.

Waste to Landfill

We operate effective programs to reduce waste generation - both at the process and overall plant level.

Wherever possible we repurpose materials typically sent to landfill through new partnerships.

We ensure traditional recyclable materials, such as paper, plastic, glass, cardboard and scrap metals are collected and recovered at every facility.

GHG Emissions

Greenhouse Gas Emissions
We constantly monitor and evaluate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) data across all operations.

We continue to optimize our production processes to reduce energy requirements, which minimizes fossil fuel usages and reduces GHGs.

Water Usage

We optimize incoming water flow rates.

We look for every opportunity to recycle cooling and process water.

Effluent Quality
We carefully maintain the quality of out flow.
